What is Rulers?
Rulers is a tabletop roleplaying game of civilisations, where you play as the monarch of your own domain.
Rulers can be played as a standalone TTRPG, with several players and a Gamemaster. It can also be played as a worldbuilding solo-game, or be used as a framework for mapping the power of cvilizations or factions in another tabletop game.
Rulers is an ongoing project with a few notable ideals:
30+ Pages. There are rules for building cities, mustering armies for war and drafting treaties with other players along with guidance on how to setup your first game.
Forever online. Rulers 2e will always be available online in a "wiki-style" format.
Always updating. My plan is not to print Rulers in a book, but to keep it in digital formats. This allows me to improve the game all the time.
Abstract numbers. Any Narrative can be told in Rulers with its high-level abstraction of its values. Resources like "Wealth" or "Might" can mean whatever you want them to for your civilization.
Setting agnostic. As much as possible Rulers is written so that it can be used in any setting or historical time period.
Combine with other games. Rulers can be played as its own standalone game, or it can be used as a worldbuilding tool to simulate the power of factions and nations in your game.
